Description
Rod Serling was an American screenwriter, playwright, and television producer best known as the creator, writer, and host of The Twilight Zone, the groundbreaking anthology series that ran from 1959 to 1964 and used speculative fiction as a vehicle for biting commentary on racism, conformity, war, and the human condition. A decorated World War II veteran who struggled with the psychological wounds of combat, he channeled his experiences into stories that wrestled with mortality, identity, and the darkest corners of human nature in ways that censors of the era found harder to challenge when wrapped in fantasy. His influence on science fiction, horror, and television storytelling is incalculable, and The Twilight Zone continues to be revived and celebrated decades after his death in 1975.
