Description
Audrey Hepburn is one of the few entertainers to have achieved EGOT status (Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony awards), but her cultural legacy extends far beyond her trophies — she embodied a particular luminous grace that made her the defining screen icon of the 1950s and 1960s in films like ‘Breakfast at Tiffany’s,’ ‘Roman Holiday,’ and ‘My Fair Lady.’ Born in the Netherlands during World War II, Hepburn survived near starvation during the Nazi occupation of Holland, an experience that shaped her lifelong commitment to humanitarian work. In her later years she became a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador, traveling to some of the world’s most impoverished regions and using her fame as a force for children’s welfare until her death in 1993.
